[30 October 2018] As we all know Delhi pollution has reached to apocalypse levels. Kejriwal government who blames everybody from Center to Haryana and Punjab for Delhi pollution should be told that majority of the pollution is Delhi centric only.
As evident from this report, Punjab and Haryana stubble burning contributed 32-36% of the total pollution. Rest of the pollution is caused by Delhi itself.
What steps did Kejriwal government took to curb that remaining more than 60% pollution. Retarded ideas like odd even which ended up doing nothing.
Now see this, Delhi government which is in power for almost 3 years now has woken up and approved around 1000 electric buses which apparently Delhi will get next year. In comparison, Himachal Pradesh already has 25 electric buses from 2017. Uttarakhand just ordered 500 electric buses and trial runs have already started.
States like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh who nowhere have the kind of pollution Delhi has, already started electric buses. Himachal Pradesh is ordering more. These States have difficult terrain as well unlike Delhi which is all plain.
Mumbai already has 5 electric buses in its fleet. I mean, Gadkari has actually done a lot for Improving Delhi environment, first he introduced a bypass which stopped at least 5000 vehicles to enter into Delhi in first 3 hours of its opening. Then he also introduced electric rickshaw.
Meanwhile Delhi Govt. told SC that they're coming up with a plan for procurement of 1,000 electric buses in 4 months. They've been going in circles about this since 2016 with no real movement. Guess what, Uttarakhand electric buses will also have CCTV cameras which Delhi Govt. promised but never delivered.
Uttarakhand buses will be made in India, no such thing can be said about Delhi as yet.
IMHO Delhi government doesn't have the money it seems. They're doing to Delhi what Lalu did to Railways. Whoever comes next should brace for a big hole in Delhi financial health.
